Daul Exhaust in NC
Has anybody put true dual exhaust on their mustang in North Carolina? I was wonderin' if it was possible with the emission laws and the cat. converter.

RE: Daul Exhaust in NC
I live just over the line here and VA and I have duals. If you don't remove the cats, you will be fine. There are many V6 dual conversion kits available.
When the shop was installing my mufflers, they asked me if I wanted the cats gutted, but I knew it would be an issue for state inspections so I told him to leave the cats alone. Not only that but your sensors are in that area too. You could run the risk of voiding your warranty if you remove the cats. |

Ford makes a dual exhaust kit for the 2005+ V6 Mustang that is50 statesemissions legal and doesn't affect your warranty. FRPP #M5230V6. Looks and sounds great.

Thanx yall for the input.

Leaving the cats is a must. Our cars sound like crap when you remove them.

Yea, that isnt even a possibility, i was just wonderin if people installed 2 cats or stayed with one and just piped out like that

I guess if you left just one it wouldnt be true dual exhaust then would it. duh.

RE: Daul Exhaust in NC
Your car has 2 cats that run into a "Y" pipewhich becomes your "single" exhaust. When installing duals, youreplace the "Y" with an "H" or "X" and run both pipes to the rear of the car thru whatever mufflers you decide to use.
