Default GT Grill in a V6

Can some one tell me why a GT grill will not fit in a V6. Was reading posts and no one has said why it will not fit just that it won't.

The shape of the front facia is a bit different around the headlights. As a result, the GT grill won't fit in a V6 bumper and a V6 grill won't fit properly in a GT bumper. Ford made them just different enough for the fit to be off.

A V6 grill can be put into a GT bumper but you will have some gaps. The GT grill is a little too big and won't fit in the V6 bumper.

I get the feeling that you want to know, specifically, why it doesn't fit well. As you know, the grills are somewhat beveled in the back. The GT grille is beveled at a different angle than the V6. It's not much, just enough to be a real pain in the a**. Also, the GT grille is taller, so it will stick up slightly. The tabs on the back are different too. The lower tabs on the GT are different than the ones on the v6. This isn't a big deal, because the lower tabs may be removed, the side tabs are in the right place. I tried to install a GT grille on my '05. It took a tremendous amount of force and when I was done it had a kind of "Frankenstein" effect, you know, close but not quite right.
I pulled it out and went with a Street Scene grille. The install was a piece of cake!

Here is a fewpics of a GT grill crammed into a V6 bumper.
Yuck. The mounting tabs are also different in quantity and location.
All of the bottom mountingtabshave to be cut off the GT grill to
even start to go into a V6 bumper. And the four side tabs barely line up. [:'(]

Does that include the GT fog lamps?
How is the fitment?
I hear that sheet metal bending is
required forsome V6 to GT style grills.
