Default New exhaust with HI Temp Paint

Changed over from the JBAaxleback to a GT take off. JBA was welded because of fit issues so i needed a new midpipe. (Thanks Ryan) Bead blasted the midpipe and cleaned up the muffler with a wire brush. Painted both with a 1500 degree Hi temp Flat black to hide from behind. Muffler pics don't show as well as mid pipe. GT Muffler sounds much better than JBA. JBA had a Rice Burner sound to it on acceleration. BTW If you ever have to change over your midpipe it is a PITA. The angle you need to put it over the axle requires the vehicle to be on a lift. I had to drop the rear axle and suspension to get it in. 2.5 hours of work and 1/2 hour of swearing. Overall happy with the end result especially with the B@M@ tune 93 race. Traction control came on for the first time from a dead start.

Incorrect.

A little bit of twisting and you can get a midpipe (I assume you're talking about the over-axle pipe?) on in no time at all.

You are a better man than me LOL I was using a floor jack with 34 inches of lift still couldnt get it. I tried every angle butthe pipe kept getting caught by the driveshaft. Did you do it on a lift? I have the GT suspension so not sure if this is what caused my issues. I dropped the panhard and disconnected the shocks and control arms to lower the axle to clear. Let me know what you did. We might be able to save some others some time.

I had the same issue so (stupid me) put the jack on 3 2x4's and it gave me jus enough clearence to wiggle out my old mid pipe. but yes there was swearing involved when i tried just on jack stands

I second this. If you jack up the car by jacking up the rear end then yes good luck getting them over the axels. Jack the car up by the frame and let the rear end hang. I took off my stock mid and put GT mids on all in about 5mins tops...

If your'e looking to do it again and switch to duals I'll have my GT Mids and Mufflers for sale soon.

That crossed my mind about 30 minutes in. I did have the car lifted by the diff. I lowered it and lifted from the frame. My pipe kept hitting the track assembly bar and the diff flange. Removed the track bar but still couldnt clear the diff flange because I kept hitting the axle. Do you guys have the upgraded GT Suspenison?

must be that the JBA is better suited for duals. my setup sounds great. nice muscle tone throughout the rpm band without getting excessively loud. i guess the H-pipe makes all the difference .

I used to agree with you until I heard it from the outside. My friend allerted me to the metallic rice burner sound. I didn't believe him until I stood outside and listened as he drove it past while accelerating. Inside the vehicle it always sounded great. Even outside at idle it had a nice aggressive tone to it. I do agree with you on the loudness though never had any excessive noise or drone while driving it.

like i said, the h-pipe must make all the difference.

good info for those looking at getting a single JBA. i always recommend the GT take-off for singles anyways. cant beat the price+quality.

You painted them silver? That's what I did too but I'm thinking about painting mine black now.
