Default Two New Mods - ALL GOOD!!!

FWIW Blue Oval Industries were GREAT to work with. They threw shipping in free and sent me a S&B CAI and a strut brace in just about 3 days. Could not be happier.

Got both on last night...

The S&B CAI is a primo kit with all OEM quality parts. The kit fit perfectly and actually frees up some room in the motor compartment...I like that. Zero drama getting it installed...fired it up and all is god. Took it for a 10 mile loop on some back roads and I can CERTAINLY feel the difference right off the back. More power? I cannot say for sure...but it feels like a different car. I was hoping the sort of dead rev feeling would vanish and it did. Very happy. Makes a nice throatier sound when on the gas...very subtle, but a nice change too. A+ as far as I am concerned. This non-tune CAI will get me by until my car is out of warranty..then I will go with a tune.

Went back home and threw on the SMR strut brace. That took all of 4 minutes. Went back out on the same loop and can definitely say this is a great way to spend $50. The road I was on is a favorite of road bike as it changes elevation and direction about 500 times in 5 miles. You can really feel the difference up front as there seems to be allot less twist when laterally changing directions. Money very well spent!

I remember I put a strut brace back on my 66 and it made a WORLD of difference as those cars flexed all over...this one was not nearly as noticeable..but it does really tighten up the front. If you are thinking about one...go for it. Oh...if you have a plenum cover...I dont think this will work as there would be clearance issues.

Totally happy!

dude get a tune .... its like the 2nd most basic performance mod there is. I still have 20k miles on my warranty , its simple whenever you go for service you just put the stock tune back in , takes all of 3 minutes its non traceable and they improve gas milage.

I am fine with the car the way it is now. But the main reason is that I am leaving for Iraq in a couple weeks...so I dont want my wife to have to un-tune the car just to take it in for a potential service.

Just not a fit for me now.

Stupid question, but what the heck is that control box thing kind of inside theedge of the CAI shroud? (looks like a cable converter box)

Congrats man. Thanks for the detailed reviews too. I am definitely putting a strut brace on my things to get list. Plus they are super cool looking.
