If I clamp the exhaust, won't it rattle and shake? I thoughts thats why people weld their exhaust.
not if they weld it right , after I put my muffler on using hand tools rattled like hell, took it to midas they tightened it up for free with tools 0 rattles

I prefer the full welds for longevity. Definately no rattling or anything to ever work loose later. A good shop will re-drop the exhaust and make sure that the top is welded correctly and completely before reinstalling the exhaust for the final time.

You think there might be air leaks with clamps?

Yes, clamps can fail and cause leaks. No going back periodically and rechecking to see if they have worked themselves loose. Weld it and it is done. To me it is just peace of mind.

In some cases such as yours it may beeasier to uses clamps if you plan on doing future work on your vechicle. Clamps definately make disassembley and reassembley faster and easier.

My Pypes system is clamped and I have no leaks or rattles.

I've got over 60,000 miles on them and the clamps have not been a problem.

I DID however, manage to break a WELD on the X-pipe mounting rod...

Broke off at... err... um... a "rate of speed slightly higher than recommended"...

Here's the hole... sounded terrible...

Ricer sound.

A piece of 1/4" rod later, all was well...

Amazing what one 1/4" hole does to the sound of your exhaust!!

I decided to go with clamping the exhaust. Also because Blow-By Racing does my tuning as well and gave me a good deal on some parts. Plus the guy seems overly assured that clamps are the way to go.

It is always best to agree with the guys that work on your car. When it is easier to work on it, they are happier. Good Luck.
