There are so many options as far as a dual exhaust setup. Ford sells the x-pipe kit. Many guys on here go with that or the H pipe set up.
I bought Pypes x pipe, mid pipe and two GT mufflers...really inexpensive.
As far as performance for low cost, CAI and tune will wake up your engine. If you want to poor some $$ and gain a lot of hp you can purchase an X Charger. It will be enough hp to beat a stock '05-'08 GT....but I would switch out the driveshaft if I were going that route.

FRPP...Ford Racing Performance Parts.
I believe a member here said straight pipes on our cars sounds like ****. [:@]

Got to remember, it's a 4.0 and you don't want it to sound like a ricer.

Ford Racing Exhaust is what he meant. Corsa's and Borla's sound really good on sixxers. I do like the Borla's. They are loud, and pretty deep.

Well how do you want it to sound? Quiet and mello, tame, or loud and aggressive?

Here's a vid of stock GT mufflers to Borla Stingers. I would say the GT mufflers are at quiet and the Stingers are at aggressive. The GTA FRPP kit would be inbetween them.

Check out my videos.

I've got the Pypes SM68 with Street Pros.

Loud as Hell.

DEEP rumble, 97dB at cold idle, "God Knows What" on highway at full throttle!

I can cruise through the mountains in VT and hear the reverberations off the cliffs!

Wild ride...

Inexpensive too.

60,000+ miles on my setup and still love 'em
