oil question debate!!!!
 

since i bought her i only have put motorcraft synthetic blend in her since her first oil change. i change the oil every 3000 miles or 3 months wichever comes first. so my question is this, i am debating whether paying an extra 30 dollars for an oil change is worth it if i go with lets say mobil 1 or royal purple, what pros will i get and do i have to do anything if i decide to change? my car barely has 9600 miles thnx guys any comments will be appreciated

I personlly would stick with what your using...i wouldnt want to pay that extra money for the same stuff really...ive herd good things about royal purple but i dont think its worth the extra money. Glad to hear your taking care of your MUSTANG tho. its way worth it

motorcraft syn. is what i use. I dont see any point to use RP or Mobil1

I wouldn't change anything, especially since you are changing every 3000. How many miles do you drive per year?

mmm i would say about 9000 i only drive it to school and to work and thats about it. yeah i felt bad because i dont have her in full synthetic oil so thats why i posted this question.

You don't need to change synthetic oil that often. In your case since you don't put that many miles on I would be running full synthetic oil and double your current change interval. If you live/drive in extremely dirty dusty roads then just change the filter at the 1/2 way point to ensure the oil is being cleaned. Use quality filter like Motorcraft, ACDelco, Wix or Purolator.
In my case I put on a lot of miles so I change at around 11k to 12k miles.
Also, if you aren't already change to full synthetics in the trans and rear end.

I use Mobil 1 full synthetic. It's pretty good oil.

I wouldn't use anything but full synthetic.

My last 3 cars were run that way (Either Mobil1 or RP), all were used pretty hard and all were well over 160,000mi when retired, and they didn't have any engine problems nor were theyburning any oil when taken out of service (because other parts of the car were shot)

Some people would tell you to RTFM!....but I'm just going with what I KNOW.

Engine flush......Amsoil full synthetic.

With mobil 1 or amsoil and such you can go 6000 - 7000 miles between oil changes or every 6 months
