How much power can a stock block handle?

How much power can a stock block handle?
I've done a lot of research and haven't foundany answers. I plan on building a custom turbo setup, undecided if I'll do twins or not. Haven't decided what size turbo to go with and that brings me here. I've heard many differentopinions on this but I would like to know for sure. How much boost is safe to run on a stock block? How much power can the stock block handle safely?

RE: How much power can a stock block handle?
Paul at Vortech was running 16 pounds with a bone stock motor. I would asume that is really close to the edge. They were turning in over 500 hp and 10.8's on the stock six motor.
Geeez....10.8 on a daily driver...not too shabby!

Well Ford must have know it was his and put some specail attention to that motor. Really though they have done lots of research on how much the V8's can handle but we have less roational mass. I think you will find out within the next few years because with Gas prices the way they are, people are going to want power and milage and the V6 will be the way it eventually heads. I am interested to know though

its paul at PHP, it was with a vortech but he doesnt work for them
its 16psi, plus nitrous, not boost alone.
they have blown their share motors
and its not a daily driver, it doesnt have a/c (everything has been removed)

RE: How much power can a stock block handle?
as far as what is safe on the stock block, id say 8-10psi.
so in the 320-380rwhp depending on the turbo setup you build.
it will reduce longevity of the motor at any boost level, but it would be minimal at that level.
ive been 8.8-12psi for well over a year now on mine, and i beat the sh*t out of it at the track.

I am going FI next year and will probably stay with something around 8 because I need the care to last longer than...say...a day!
Are you getting 300 at the wheels around 8? If so...that will be my goal for sure.

I totally agree...but he didnt ask what was safe...he wanted to know how much.

anytime you talk about what can it handle, its assumed safely. anyone can throw 20psi at it and have it last a couple times, but thats hardly "what it can handle"

What turbo are you running Fazm, the one with the PH kit? You have nitrous also don't you or were those numbers juston boost alone?
