Forged engine for Powerhouse Turbo?
Ok, so I'm halfway there in geting the Turbo, with thanks to those who assisted me with my inquiries. Now my question is, can I run the turbo safely without fear of damaging the engine? So far those that assisted me say that they have run theirs on stock engine with no problems whatsoever. But you know how we nitpick, always want to be on the safe side So have at it guys (n gals.) Would I need to forge or would I be okay with purchase and install?

Wouldnt forging the engine make it better for the long run though? I dont know what Mr.Bapes long term plans are but i personally would like to run my engine at 500 with a PH turbo for somewhere near 5-10 years. So a forged engine would make it last about that much longer correct?

I was at 535rwhp and 600rwtq on a build block, ph turbo and nitrous. Unfortunately it didn't last 5 years. I would follow Lance's (buckmans) advice, go with 11psi FTW. Here is some info I posted pior on the subject, its what I went through with mine, though your experience may differ if you go this route...
Mine was a fully built block, with the works, pistons, bearings, fasteners, studded, heads, cams, cobra valve springs, etc. The rods in my build were stock, which are forged, but apparently not strong enough. SSM makes rods, but they stretch over time and have to be replaced. Custom forged rods are in the neighborhood of $3k, which is why I bought a take out 5.4 3v for $2500 bucks. Marona has rods for our cars, though stroked as he uses chevy rods, but....well...lets just say you roll the dice giving him your money. Several sources claim its a year lead time with him.
Hind sight 20/20, I will never do a build up like that without going with rods too. I widowed my block and paid the price. I'm a big fan of the 6ers, so I hope in time, we see some more rod options on the market that are affordable.

Hey rygen do you run it as a drag car or use it as a dd. Cause i have plans to run it as both but not so hard as to stretch her limits. The main reason I want 500 hp/tq is so that i can compete with the new camaros on the track or street. Plus a v6 that can blaze most things on the road is just something that brings a smile to my face.
