Default Im going to cry!

Well im trading in the 07' Torch Red Vert with 31,000 miles loaded Pony package and magnaflow catback dual exhaust for an 06' toyota prius. I drive about 100 miles driving back and forth to work, also i work a 2nd job where i do in home shoe fittings so i travel quite a bit. Im filling up the mustang about 3 times from monday through saturday. Im averaging about 22-23 mpg, but its still killing me, i did the math and i figure ill save about $350 a month driving the prius. What do you guys think would be a fair trade in price? I went on kbb and it said $13,000 that kills me because i paid about 21,000 for the car. I was hoping to get about 15,000 for it, also the car is in perfect shape, not a scratch or dent i took vey good care of it. If you guys could let me know i would appreciate it, thanks!

KBB strikes again. Is that private sale or dealer trade in?
You are going to have a big loss if you trade her in.
A private sale to a mustang lover is your best bet.
Search the classified in your area and see what an
07 PP sells for in your area. Then cry.

You gotta do what you gotta do man. Maybe in the future when your doing well you could get her back! I think $13,000 is a little low, your best bet is selling it privately I would say.

Sorry to hear that man. I'm sure you can get a bit more than that if you sell it yourself.

O and no way in hell would I trade my Stang for a Prius..... I do a lot of driving and rent a lot of cars for work. If I don't like the car I'm in the trip last twice as long and I get crabby!

Figure out your real payback on the Prius when you calculate the sell price differences, sales taxes etc. You have to consider the length of time you really expect to have either car. Every $500 buys a bunch of gas. I drive 120 mile round trip everyday so I feel your pain. I am getting 27 mpg by staying at 70 and taking it easy. Don't ignore the value of driving a car you really enjoy either.

Good luck.

KBB is what those predators at the dealership hope and pray that you rely on! Those are just numbers! They rely on the Kelly Black Book price (wholesale) when they factor your trade value...I used to buy and sell cars at auction for a dealership. You know what your car is worth and what you put into it, and don't back down from that price.

That being said... from a mustang to A PRIUS??????? OMG, I'd rather walk to work with cinder blocks nailed to my ball sack! Can't you compromise and buy a cheap 4cyl work car and still keep the stang? I'm going to get a pos to drive this winter so my stang can just hibernate. I don't care if I can only afford a $500 rust bucket, if it gets me through the winter it's worth it! I know what's waiting at home for me!!!

Why not keep the car and buy a cheap used car that gets high mileage, like a toyota tercel or corrola or something.
