Default VIS GT500 Hood

Does anyone have this hood? I'm interested in these hood along with a few others. Although, i'm concerned about the heat extractor louvers letting water in. Has anyone had a bad experience with this or a similar hood? I know the Cervinis hood is supplied with a drain pain to keep water from entering the engine compartment.

I've got a hood with heat extractors and have had no problem. Water isn't going to hurt your engine; how do you clean it, with water? I spray off my engine at the do it your self car wash all the time.

Spraying water on your engine and engine bay with a high powered sprayer could force water to get into spots where it could cause damage...

I have heat extractors on my Dakota's SRT style hood, and no water comes into the engine bay.

Thanks for the information. It's between this hood, the Cervinis KR (if I can find one) or the CS6 hood.

I'm not too worried. I give it a quick spray from several feet away to get the dust and grime off.

Go with the Type IV....looks meaner IMO. I'm assuming you're going to go with the newer one with the drop in extractors?

One of the main things I like about the KR hood is the louvers. I don't care for the billet ones.

I origionally was thinking "get a shaker" but the KR style hood is growing on me.

Get one, stick some leds up there, and wire them to the turn signals, ala Knight Rider Style. Now that would be cool!
