there is practically no difference if you are getting custom tunes anyways. anything your car does is a result of the tune itself, not the programmer. only time the two units become relevant is when you are searching for tuner shops that support your programmer. OR, if you are only running the default tunes that are factory loaded into the programmer. In this case the Diablosport has better canned tunes based off user reviews. SCT has more support with tuner shops. I'm using a Predator myself but run bama tunes.

Lethal,

As stated by others the brand/tuner does not matter as long as it's recognized (used) by most. I got the X-Cal 3 with VMP tuning and GT muffler. I see your point about insurance... that's a tough one each contributor has to judge for himself.
BTW: the tunes and GT take off sound great and the increase (throttle lag disappear/more hp, etc.) is enough to please you. Coming from the Italian motorcycle world, where any exhaust was $1,000+, I enjoy the performance increase and sound of the CAI/muffler tunes for the price.

They do, just give them a call, i said the same thing when i looked on their website, but when i called them they did place the order for a V6 intake/tune package, they were very helpful and friendly.
