Its not the mods that wins the race, its the driver.
You can add all sorts of performance boosters, but if
they are not set up right or if you cant drive, its a
waste of good mods.

I have an automatic.

I think it's 1 thing or a combo of the things listed:

1. A/F ratio is bad with new headers/exhaust causing you to lose some power
2. Those rims you have are a bit heavy to be racing with
3. Your friend is a really good driver.
4. Both races you were an underdog: from the light I think he knew how to launch better than you and outlaunched you and from the roll he was already in the right gear and you weren't giving him the advantage of being in the powerband before you.
5. It was fairly hot out giving your supercharger noticable heat soak (I hear cobra's have horrible problems with stock heat exchanger and this)

Honestly, I think it's combo of the things stated. Also, do you have any extra weight/options in your car that would add a noticable amount of weight like leather seats, shaker 500, extra cargo, etc?

well you should have gotten him but if he has the 3.55 gear option then it makes it a bit closer. i raced my friend in a 06 gt w/ 3.55's and an exaust and i put 2 cars on him. when he got the intake and tune its a VERY Close race. i got him once and he got me once. i have a pretty bad heat soak problem as do you. im only making about 290 rwhp with 280 rwtq. if you are roll racing, the best thing to do is leave it in 1st and hit it and just throw it back into drive, it will give you that instant GO rather then waiting for it to drop.

no, if you rev it up in nuetral and drop in D then you can. all thats happening when you start in 1 and while holding on the gas putting it back up into D is telling the car to shift its self again, but you still get that instant pick up and then let the computer do the rest!

A Lo-Po (2.8 pulley) Automatic X-Charged V6 with 18" wheels is gonna have a hard time beating a stock Manual Shift GT with 17" wheels .... especially if the GT driver knows how to speed shift and beats you off the line.

Maybe you guys should switch cars and see if it makes a difference .... If you are not as good a driver as him shifting the 5-speed ... I bet he beats you with your car.

Need to get a dyno tune and a stall speed converter.............

Note: To the OP............here in California, if you are caught street racing they crush your ride and have you watch it..........too much time and $$$ involved in a ride to watch it get crushed!!!

Oh, and you still have to make the payments, if you are still making them!

Just the fact here in California.............BTW, this is not a rant!

Love the X-Charger................
