Default advice on V6 upgrade!!!

so i have a V6, and i'm purchasing and installing any aftermarket parts on my own. I started small with custom dual flowmaster exhaust and a K&N Intake. I'm thinking of continueing with small stuff and getting a throttle body upgrade with a spacer. Or going straight for headers and adding on the throttle body and spacer after the headers or...i had a few people suggest Nitrous...

anyone's two cents is greatly appreciated

headers and throttle body wont do much if anything, your best bet is nitrous with a tune, or a tune to go with your K&N intake.
Try bamachips or brenspeed for the handheld tuner with tunes packages.

Any mods will not get any return on your investment. Depending on what mods you do, may be hinderance on resale value. If you want to make your vehicle fast, install nitros or super charger. IMO, stay with stock V6, and if looking for fastness, wish for GT. Otherwise, save your money, IMO. If you plan to keep the car for 6+ years, mod the heck out of it to fit your fancy, IMO

Tune is number one. No ifs, ands or buts. Everyone will tell you this.

Then, you can do many things, all of which return modest gains. Forget spacer, it is proven to deliver no value.

Supercharger or a turbo is the only thing that will make a profound change (other than tune)

NO TB spacer. Paperweight.
NO new Throttle Body. Troublesome and little to no gain.
CAI + TUNE BBFTB Best Bang For The Buck

Then some suspension and wheel upgrades
to get the power to the ground.

One giant question for you is: You say you want to do small stuff but want more power, how much are you looking on spending on the V6 over the next few/couple years? If you want to spend under $2k, then get a tuner w/custom tunes from a notable tuner like Bama, VMP, or Brenspeed, gears, and an lsd if mpg isn't a problem. If mpg is a problem then no gears. That should help a lot, probably half a second in the 1/4 if you drag race. Great bang for buck($750-$800 if you can install it yourself, if not add a couple hundread). After that I'd say work on suspension as stated.

If you are going to spend over $2k on your car and closer to $4k or more, just save for a supercharger. Most preferred and best for the street is the x-charger with tons of low-end torque for the streets and is self installable by yourself if you have some mechanical knowledge or preferably with a friend that knows about cars. Other superchargers are Vortech, Procharger, Paxton, and there are turbochargers which are a good bit more expensive.

Your numbers are high on the gears, I paid $700 installed for gears & t-lok, and that was for parts and labor.

But I agree tuner/cai and some suspension will make a nice ride.

Year 1 = CAI + Tune (more like Day 1 )

Year 2 = gears (3.73 or 4.10) with t-lok

Year 3 = Aluminum driveshaft and suspension

if your looking for real power and are planning on hitting the track go with turbo or supercharger

if you are looking for a car that you can drive to work and not hit the track but are still looking for power go with gears and a t-lok

if you do the second one then I would also throw some visual stuf in their not saying you cant do visual on both
