Default Differential Help

Ok I am going to buy me a posi some time within the next few days hopefully, I found a Auburn Posi or what I believe it to be on Ebay, so I will post up a link and someone tell me if its a pretty good deal. It says limited slip but from what I read it just lets the wheels spin independently in the coners and things which would fine for handling and wet weather tractions sake because this is my DD. So anyways, Will my axles hold hold even if I decide to swtich over to a V8 sometime in the distant future, It says that this rear is rated up to 450Ftlbs and I know my 6er proably wont ever get that high. So just give me any imput

better off saving your money for an 8.8 swap, especially with your future v8 plans

Well the 8.8 shipping is so expensive I can get this and have it installed Cheaper and I dont know what I will do with the car in the future, I might build it up and FI or I might switch it to a 8Banger

to be honest, I don't believe the auburn will last that long. and I REALLY doubt it handles 450 like they say. Sure it handles 450, but for how long? They even claim it handles more than a TrueTrac, which is BS. The TrueTrac is a gear-based LSD, it's tough as nails. I've heard of an auburn going bad, never a TT. The auburn is better than the FR t-lok, but it's still a clutch-type LSD in a 7.5. If they are willing to offer you some kind of good warranty, then go for it. JMO

Well, I wouldnt mind getting an 8.8 and I have already checked all the Junkyards around here, but I cant seems to come up with one. I had one guy try to tell me a 7.5 outta a V6 was an 8.8.

My biggest question through this whole thing was the total price. I can get and 8.8 and then I can put it in myself, but it is rediculous to pay what they want for shipping.
