Default The one thing I REALLY didnt want to do...

Well, I reflashed my engine to VMP's 87 mileage tune this morning, and needless to say, it feels like a wet noodle in cold molasses. It is actually pretty close to stock performance, but I have really gotten used to the throttle response and low-end torque of VMP's 93 perf tune. Once the tune sets in and the engine adjusts to me "grandmothering" it, the mpg should be well over 25. I really didnt want to do this, but I have recently decided to do the greatest bang for buck mod for my car, which would be paying it off 4 years early, and every cent counts.

That's a big change, eh? I just got the VMP tune last month and put on the 91 race. I've been loving it, but only getting (roughly) low 20's. The car feels much better than stock and makes it REALLY fun to drive. Let me know if you see higher than 25. I don't drive mine but weekends, but if I have to start driving daily (work truck gone) I'll have to adjust too.
Thanks.

Yes the 87 mileage tune is not as good for power as the 93 tune BUT my Mustang gave me 27.6 mpg highway with the 3.55 gears and the 87 mileage tune over the 93 tune which gave 26 mpg highway. Best ever stock was 24.5 mpg highway. I use the 93 as my everyday tune but on trips the 87 mileage goes in. Plus when the car was stock with just the VMP cai & 87 mileage tune I got 29.1!!! mpg highway between Alabama and NY. I'm sold on VMPs mileage tune!

Well heck, I need to get this it will put me over 30 on the interstate trips. After I got my car took in at Christmas time, Went to around 400 miles or so from VA to WVA and got 29.8. But that was all highway with the cruise set most all the way. I havent tested it since I got my Exhausts but, I usually get 26+ around town givin it all I want to and I still have stock so I am thinking about ordering these tunes, I cant wait to see how good it will get
