Did this happen when you floored the car? For some reason every time I floor my car I get a burning smell. I've actually pulled over and looked for the burning smell too.

i just got my exhaust installed and it smells like burnt plastic, i thought my bumper was melting then i figured it out

one time my stepmom parked in the garage and thirty minutes the car exploded burning my garage down and melting four cars in the meantime. our whole house had fire damage but i think we got a good settlement out of it. maybe get it checked out

Check for proper clearance between any wiring looms under there.
The O2 sensor wiring is a good starting place.

Where you have it circled is where your power steering pump is..

Yep where I have it circle the smell is the strongest. I took it to the stealership today and well I got to wait until I see what happens. I'm hoping it's a plastice bag stuck somewhere heating up but with my luck my car is F&@ked.

Well I took it to the stealership and it worst then I fear a plastic bag stuck somewhere under the car be melted by the heat. It was a big job to remove it took over 3 min and it cost me $0 lol. Thank god it was just that. Thanks everyone for helping trying to figure out what it was. I love my stang any little thing I go Crazy.

Lol +1 for knowing how some people are on the forum

A heat shroud may have come loose by your join in the pipe..and it cause painted surfaces to be exposed to intense heat
