Isn't the new 3.5 already in the Lincoln MKS? Or is that for next year's model?

My wife has the 3.5 liter duratech v6 with the 6speed auto tranny in her Ford Edge. It has 265hp and is a high revving quick engine. It was supposedly designed to be taken to 4.0liter and be able to handle twin turbo's and pump out 360ish hp. Search wikipedia it has alot of information on it.

Well Wiki isnt necessarly the most scholarly source. Also Ford is getting ready to make another Faboulus Flop. They could make a more boost friendly and ecofriendly 4.0 but they wont ever do it because it would be to easy, Also they would have more displacement than your average Rice. I have always been more on the "you cant replace displacement" I mean everything can be improved and just think a 4.0 with the same technologies applied that make these a 260HP engine, well just think another half a liter of power. Plus with some boost on that bigger engine. Sorry with a few improvements on a already stardard design would push the 4.0 well beyond the 3.5

I heard but not sure that they might put the 5.0 or 6.2 for the GT.

The 3.5 is a different design altogether, more modern than our 4.0's. Our 4.0's are actually fairly cheap and simple engines. Are you talking about taking the 3.5 duratech up to 4.0 displacement?

With the new V6 Camaro coming soon; and it does sub 6 sec
0-60 with standard 6 spd, 300 hp, irs, 18" wheels.... Ford better
do something other than a single exhaust, live axel, 4.0 5 spd
boat anchor. I trust they will offer the new 6er very soon!!

I've studied a lot about this and this is what I have found out about each:
Future V6 maro:
300HP 273Torque
3,750lb curb weight
Estimated 17/25mpg
Estimated 0-60 6.1

Future V6 Mustang(3.5 ecotech):
265HP 250Torque
under 3,350lbs with new smaller body style and engine
Estimated mpg with ecoboost/duratech 3.5 mid 20's-city/low 30's-highway (this done by relating curb weight and aerodynamics from ford edge to new mustang)
0-60 should be very close to the V6 catfish

I give it to the V6 future stang over the V6 maro from the obvious stated and the the V6 stang should cost a few $K less than the maro as it usually does as seen in past V6 mustang vs V6 maro pricing.
