You are goiing to spend way more than you think doing that setup. You might as well find a gt motor, ecu, harness, trans, and beef up the gt motor before you put it in.

Makes 100x more sense than putting that motor in.

Yea and the rear, but the wiring will take more than you could ever imagine. It will be work but yea I would go with the GT swap before I would go to that.

The wiring is not hard at all. You take the full harness from the gt and plugs right into the new ecu and all the connectors are different so you really can't screw up. The harness from the body control module to the ecm is identical. The only change is the engine harness.

You would need the following

Motor
Trans
harness
ecu
drive shaft
rear end
headers/manifolds

If you have never done a swap you better find a buddy who has.

I guess he could put a gt engine in there, and end up as just another faceless car, or he could turn his car into something unique. Just a thought.

Why spend 6700 for a 281ci engine when you can spend only 2685$ for this: https://www.northparkmotorsports.com...l?currency=USD

Add another 2 grand for the parts needed to get it to work in the car, then throw a very wide choice of transmissions behind it, hook it to a Ford 9", and you are good to go. You might even end up spending less then you would for an engine designed to fit in this car, as modern powertrain components are quite expensive.

Not if he goes carbureted...
A lot cheaper and simpler.

I would go with a stroked 351 block though, like a 408ci or so.
Lots more torque.

You might want to check w/ Brenspeed, I read on their site that they store and sell 281 engines out of 197s for those bumping up to the Saleen 302 for $2000-2500.
