Default 4.10s = how much kick in the butt?

After driving my car my a few weeks after installing the CAI and 93 race tune, I still cant get over how much better the car pulls.

My question is, how much harder will it pull/feel with 4.10s and a tlok?

Well I only have 3.73 gears and I must say there is a huge difference. I usually end up spinning the tires if I just get on it right away but if I let her get up to about 15mph and then put the pedal to the floor I actually sink back into the seat. I couldn't even imagine 4.10 gears. The downside though is the mpg is shot now compared to stock.

Unless all you do is drag racing, then 3.73 gearing is gonna give you ALL the "kick in the butt" you'll be able to use! IMO 4.10 gearing would be SILLY if it's your DD... your rpms on the highway would KILL your gas milege.

My '05 V6 has the CAI/93 Tune/GT muffler mods similar to yours and just last Friday I added the 8.8" GT axle with 3.73/t-loc... Let me tell you it's AWESOME! The gearing difference is like nite & day! The engine is always right in the sweet spot of the powerband, so you feel the acceleration is right THERE, instead of needing to downshift when you really wanna "goose it"!

I'll put it this way.. the difference in 3.73 gearing is even MORE remarkable than the difference you feel when going from stock to CAI/Tune!

93 race tune + 4.10's + 5R55S 1st gear launch = w00000000000t!!!!!

(But I usually cruise at about 60 mph on the highway to keep the revs near 2000 rpm.)

Don't we have this stickied somewhere? It would keep a lot of the "You'll get 4 mpg on the highway" comments at bay.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I was really hoping that getting new gears would feel even more impressive than when the cai and tune was installed.

"and just last Friday I added the 8.8" GT axle with 3.73/t-loc... "

How much was the total cost for that? I am also debating getting the 8.8 with everything already put in, or just getting the gears and install kit, and the tlok and blah blah blah. I just dont wanna pay to have the gears installed and have it botched only to have to do it all over again.

All V6 S197 Mustangs come with 7.5" 3.31:1 gears and open differential.
