Default Racing Seats?

Anyone here have racing seats, preferably corbeau forzas? I'm looking into getting these. I have found them cheapest $800 shipped with brackets. I think they would be a nice interior mod, while taking off at least 80lbs from the car to help fuel economy. Here's a link to the seats I'm looking at:
http://www.texashotrods.com/StoreFro...88&i=239007010 . 19lbs a seat ain't bad at all I think. Ideas.

So your paying $800 for 80lbs and you think that will make much of a fuel economy difference?

If you are strictly looking for weight reduction, you could get rid of the power driver's seat. In all of my time with S197's, I have only seen one of them with a manually adjustable driver's seat. Rather than buying a racing seat to replace a power driver's seat, another option would be to look for a base S197 Mustang with a manually adjustable driver's seat. I would bet there's at least a 40lbs weight difference.

Thanks for the help.

Not for weight reduction alone, I mostly want to do it for the looks. But there is more than a 40lb difference from a power and manual drivers seat? WOW, then the racing seats I am looking at would take off over 100lbs, probably about 110lbs. How hard would it be for the average person/amateur mechanic to swap power drivers and regular passenger seats to racing seats with new brackets?

Racing seats are way uncomfortable i think. My friend had some in his Ranger and they were great for off roading, really held me in place but...
i personally think they are more for JDM cars...i love the look of my seats, the comfort also.

I don't think they are as uncomfortable as you think. They are built for people who have 36" waist or smaller. So if you borderline that, they will definitely be uncomfortable. I have ridden in a few reclinable ones and they weren't bad at all on moderate to short trips (I have a 30'' waist). I don't like the idea of the non-reclinable forzas so I am looking at these now:

A little bit heavier, a little more expensive, but reclinable is a good option while still looking really good and they knock off about 100lbs, maybe a little more. I'm really looking into getting these, I'll update you guys if I decide to buy them.

I have researched these too, and have heard nothing but good things about the build quality and comfort for a very lightweight racing seats. They are supposed to be as good as sparcos with a smaller price tag. I'd probably suggest these if someone is in the market for cheap, good looking, reclinable, and lightweight racing seats.

It also all depends on what kind of racing seat it is, cause some are really thin like and it depends on the size of the person, Quality also.

Just whatever you do...please don't get the seats with the cutouts for 5 point racing harnesses and then use the factory seatbelts.....

I like the corbeau GTS II's, they're not much in the way of weight reduction I don't believe, but they look nice, sit pretty well, and aren't too expensive.
