I can believe you feel gains, I hear peak gains for shorty headers are small but you should definitely feel a bump in the lower and mid rpms from shortys, from all the dyno graphs and feedback I've seen/heard from all types of cars thats what shorty headers seem to do. Glad to hear you like em. They definitely seem like a great cost efficient mod for performance and sound.

Did you happen to check the MPG before & after? I heard they are supposed to increase the MPG?

I haven't really noticed a difference. But I can't keep my foot off the pedal.

My mpg has dropped because I get on the pedal more now . In theory though yes it should drop. You're engine revs faster which will in turn get you to your desired speed quicker and your time spent in the higher rpm's will drop meaning you will spend more time in the crusing rpm range which is where you save the most gas.

so did you feel at least a slight performance increase? this has been a much debated topic about the worthiness of headers for performance.

Yea what Sancho said, I'm running out of things to do to my car and some extra performance wouldn't hurt =)

does it heat up the engine compartment and prematurely wear out the spark plug wires etc...?

I've been thinking about getting these even if it's just for the bling factor. As long as they aren't going to blow anything up or hinder performance, for the money, they sound like a good deal to me. I mean the covers are more expensive? Haha.
