Its good for what it is, I didnt get it to gain performace or whatever. I love the looks of duals and this was the cheapest so I'm with it. Just looking for the right exhaust now so I can get a better sound.
I don't know where you can buy just the GTA's but maybe you could buy the whole kit and sell off the dual conversion kit, keeping the mufflers. I'm sure someone would buy that. Just an idea....
I think i might do it with gt takeoffs. Or since you guys aren't satisfied.... should i just skip the gt takeoffs and go straight to nicer mufflers?
I can't speak from personal experience, but most on here recommend borla stingers. That's what I'm going to go with when I get the funds. There's several sound clips on youtube, and IMO they're by far the best sounding for our little v6's.
Find an exhaust you like and go for that...Skip the GT takeoffs and save yourself some cash to go towards the exhaust you want. I went with the GT takeoffs because at the time, thats all I could afford but, if I were in your place, I'd go for something else.
You only need to cut the driver's side. The passenger's side doesnt need any further cutting if you have 4" tips.
Do you have the GTA's? Did you not cut your bumper? Did you have to bend the mufflers downwards to accomplish it? I have the GTA's from the FRPP kit and I know I had to cut the bumper out more, otherwise the tips were right up against the bumper. The FRPP GTA cut-out template from the dual exhaust v6 kit is available from FRPP:
