Question Loose Rattle in front end???

brought my car to work today and as i went to lunch, i noticed some knocking sound in the front end whenever i rolled over bumps or cracks in the road. on my way back to work, it got much worse and obvious. really sounds like something is getting seriously loose. when i got back to the office i popped the hood and looked underneath for anything obvious but didnt visually see anything wrong. i will take a much more thorough look at everything i can after work. i'm posting this in hopes that this sounds familiar to some of you and can give some ideas of what it could be or some guidance on where i should start inspecting once i get a chance. thanks for any help you all can provide.

front swaybar maybe?

after going to the track mine sounded like a rock was bouncing around under the hood... going from side to side turning turns and hard bumps in the road.

try there first.
