Default How do you remove empty buttons from panel?

Is there any way to remove the little unused buttons that exist above the stereo? I am going to install a fuel flow readout in that location, and I'd like to run the OBD wire into my panel through a button hole.

If this makes no sense, give me a "WTF?" and I will clarify the question.

i think i understand your question, you might need to remove the whole stereo panel, and cut the buttons from the back.

if you are talking about the 3 blank buttons that are for the cluster if you have it. take a small flat screwdriver and a piece of rubber ,cardboard or something to rest against the console and it pops out there is a tab on each side. just carefully slide the screwdriver in and it pry's out.

Those are the ones. What is behind the empty buttons? If I remove one, could I run a wire through the hole into my panel, down to the OBDII harness below the steering wheel?

Here's what I'm installing:

Sure plenty of space. If they only offer a straight connector your going to hit with your leg. Needs a right angle!
