Money matters
Over the past year almost that I have been lurking around these forums, I have observed many of the members go through incredible transformations of their V6 mustangs. I can't help notice, along with many other members I'm sure, the amount of money that has to go into all of those great mods.
I have several questions for those members who have got the mod bug after getting their 4.0L stang (which is almost everybody here haha):
1) How much money have you spent overall on your mods?
2) How long did it take you to save up all of this money?
3) Is the performance of your mustang now worth all of the money?
Thanks for the replies and helping to shed light on the financial decisions of our members. Because most people will tell you the biggest concern when modding is money.

1. About $2200 so far.
2. I make about $2k a month(I'm still in college and work a low paying job ), so probably a little over a month. Nothing that comes close to breaking my bank though, I can budget well and still have over $5k in the bank I not going to ever go below.
3. I'd say it's worth the money now. Mustang is theoretically more than a half second quicker than stock(more fun to drive), sounds nice and loud enough for a 6, and should be getting 3mpg+ better than stock(not including different octane changes gains). Definitely money well spent so far

1k. seems like we're all college kids.. I really don't mind dropping money on something I enjoy and that should last me a good amount of years. The cai and tuner was the best investment so to answer your performance question, yes it was worth the money!

1. around $500
2. about a month but i haven't worked since this summer
3. I think it was worth it. I had fun shopping around for the best deals and installing the intake/tuner. My gt takeoff also makes a nice little noise and it seems to get better almost every time I drive it. Also no auto lag FTW.

1. ~2k In mods
2. I just had the money sitting around. I make and sell websites for a living. Some sites are worth some good money so I get a large chunk of change and then stop working until the money runs low again.
3. I love driving my car everyday. I loved driving it when I first got it and I still love driving it to this day.

1.) I have spent roughly $5,871.00 on mods for my car.
2.) I didn't need to save up.
3.) I am very satisified with my Mustang, I do not regret putting any money into it and it is not financially wise to invest money into any car, you do it for the fun, love, fascination of modding your own street rod. I plan on putting another 5-6k into it in the future anyway. When I have nothing left to do to it, I will get another car and start over

1. Almost $3K in mods (see sig).
2. Spent it as it came in. No saving.
3. Yes it is but I coulda had a V8 (joke) for
the $$ spent on the V6. But then insurance
is cheaper for the V6. But I will never
recoupe the $3K spent when it
comes time to sell her.
Its a really big go-cart at this point.
Very fun to drive and you only go around once.
