i left my extra key at my my friends house and lost the other one found it now but my other friend told me he could hot wire my car to get it to run because we needed to be somewhere. he didnt try it because i wouldnt let him but he keeps saying he can hotwire it and i tell him its impossible because they need the key with the chip in them to run. am i right about this or is it possible to hotwire an 07 mustang. just trying to settle a dispute here.

Im with you, i've always heard you need the key chip in order for the car to start. Not possitive but i beleive you're right.

You need a programmed PATS key with the chip in it.
No hot wiring for the S197s unless you have an aftermarket
remote start system installed, then its easy cheesy to hotwire.

LOL. I highly doubt your friend can hotwire a modern car. Its most likely not going to happen on our stangs.

Lol not when our cars require lazier encoded keys...check the manual.

and my car has an immobilizer in it so the whole car shuts down and locks you inside.
i got in my car and pressed the lock button on my key chain and then started the car...tried to anyway and it shut down and the alarm went off and every time i tried to get out the door would lock and keep locking itself, like it is a bait car lolol.
