Angry axle back aggravation !

Ok, so here is another exhaust question, which most of you see all the time. I'm about to buy either an axle back or a "gt-style" grille. if i decide to get the axle back, I want a good sounding one. I was thinking about the flowmaster american thunder, any thoughts on a brand.

Deff get the exhaust first. I started off with American Thunder and it was way better than stock. I've since moved to SLP. Either way they're all better than stock.

ANYTHING is better than the stock muff!
But beware of mfgr's claims of 'x gain in hp'...most of that is bogus. You'll get a little more power replacing the stocker with almost any muffler, but it wont be a whole lot.

....let the mods begin!...

Be sure its a GT M/T muff and not a GT Auto tranny muff.
The GT Auto tranny muff sounds like the stock V6 muff.
I know as the body shop replaced my GT M/T take-off
with an GT Auto tranny muff after an accident and it
sounded like the V6 stocker. The replaced it at their cost
with the proper GT M/T take-off muff and its back to
sounding good.

Agree, do the exhaust ASAP. I have the FRPP M 5230-5GT all stainless, a little quieter than some but that's what I wanted. I understand it's made by BORLA. BASSANI is also a great choice. But go to their sites, you should be able to hear it. Lot's of manufacturers to choose from.

I used to have a single American Flowmaster AT and it sounded great for a single. Nice throaty, low noise and got a lot of compliments. Much louder than the super-quiet stock muffler.

I've since moved up to dual Borla Stingers, but I was very happy with the Flowmaster as a single muffler.
