The engine alone from FRPP (M-6007-C54) retails for $17K...
+ the 6spd, a 8.8 rear, suspension/brakes and the labor, it's a minimum $30K mod.
Despite the cool factor of doing this to a sixxer, I'd go right ahead and get that Cobra.

I do have a lot of respect for you though, in having such a noble task in mind

plenty of guys out here have done the svt swap. heck one guy even left all of the v6 trim bumpers and badges and hid the second exhaust pipe up high to make a real nice sleeper. al in all he had about 30k invested and was a pretty darn fast car,

That's a true hero if you ask me.

The stock V6 wiring harnesses don't have all the wires used by GTs and GT500s; there's extra sensors that dont exist on the V6, not many, but a few.
I woulf think if you got ahold of a GT500 ECU and wiring harness, then you'd be able to do this easier.

But keep us posted: sounds like a veeeeeerrrryyyyyy interesting project

I'd love to swap in the GT500 drivetrain as well ....

However ... by the time I saved up enough money to do it ... a used GT500 will be cheaper.

Now a standard GT swap is the most cost effective ... and way cheaper than taking a loss on a V6 car and buying a GT .. I have seen complete GT setups from wrecked cars with everything required for the swap for less than $3K.

V6 computer won't work, and even a GT computer has its challenges for the tuner doing the fab work. I would stick with a GT500 computer.

yeah, I asked someone from SPP and he also told me, that I need the GT500 ECU and wiring harness.
That the project also costs much money and also much time I´m sure, but you must think about it, these are all brand-new parts, so it can´t be compared to the price of a used GT500.

of course, I´m doing the modification earliest in fall 2009

what are your final goals with the car? i mean what are u planning to run with it (drag, autox, drift?!)

many over here have had they v6 very modified, and many are in the 350+ whp with a single or TT kit and some bolt ons.

i know what u mean of wanting a v8 on your car (i've thought plenty of times to put in my 05 my 302ci carb motor lol) but for what i want from my car a single turbo kit will be enough.

just my .02 cents
