Stock Tire Size
Ok I am getting some wheels this upcoming spring so I am going to take my stock wheels and get some good snow tires put on them.
This is where the problem comes in, I switched them for some High Performance tires a while back but they were a little different size 225/55/R16 so whats the stock tire size.
Also what are some good snow tires, I dont want to spend a ton of money on them, but I want them to be safer than the tires I have.

I'm no tire expert so I don't want to give you something that won't do well. Go to www.tirerack.com and there is a search for "Performance Category." Just pick an All Season tire and see the ratings it has and stuff. If you find one that looks good just post it on here and see what people say about it. Each tire should have reviews by other people who have bought the tire.

215/65/r16. I have General Altimax Arctic snow tires on my stockers and they are awesome. They were pretty cheap too. I paid $90 pire tire for them at a local shop. You can buy them even cheaper online but it was more convenient for me to just buy them locally.
Here are some reviews for them on tire rack. http://www.tirerack.com/survey/Surve...Altimax+Arctic

I can't really speak for treadwear. My Altimax Arctics have only been on the car for about 6 weeks. Snow tires don't last very long and I expect to get 15k miles out of them. Wet traction is good so far. They grip better than the stock BFGs on cold wet roads. They do feel a little strange on the highway, although most snow tires do since they tend to be pretty soft. On the highway you can feel how soft the side wall is if you have to make a sudden lane change. In the snow it is a night and day difference over stock. The car gets moving and stops with no problems. I have the control to spin the tires if I need to, but otherwise the tires stay planted.
