I've never had a problem with the shift to third. However sometimes the 1-2 shift is balky.

I've noticed that the closer to redline I get the harder it is to get into 2nd and 3rd gear. As long as I shift under 5000 rpm's I don't have much trouble shifting. 3rd gear does seem to be a bit more finicky than 2nd though. I have also noticed that if I shift just right, which is hard to do, I can get the tires to chirp shifting into both 2nd and 3rd gear.

It's an OK transmission, in my opinion. I realize that the Mustang is a totally different animal than my VW golf was, but this transmission seems VERY spongy to me. I'm going to be looking to upgrade to the Hurst when they finally put one out. I like the clutch, it's light and easy to use. The throttle can be a bit touchy from time to time, and the noise when running in lower RPMS (to save gas) is a bit annoying, but the unit functions well overall.
