To the people in Cali - and others
Alright this post contains two questions.
1) What would you recommend the tire pressure to be if you want more grip than tire wear (temporary, not as a DD)
2) Anyone in California up for this cruise? The location where I think would be best is Highway 9 because:
- Usually no cars, and when there is cars they usually pull over to let people pass.
- No cops.
- Lots of fun twisties, but got to be SAFE, no stupid s**t.
The Route
Once my parts come in, I think it would be pretty fun to have a couple of you people to cruise with on that route.
BTW, I have been on that route before, it is really fun.

I thought it was the other way around lol. The cruise is not planned yet, I want to see how many people from MF can make it.
It would be pretty cool and interesting to see us 6'ers take a nice cruise around some nice bends.

More than just ultimate grip is involved here. You may benefit overall from front tires that are at a little higher pressure than that where absolute maximum grip is obtained - by having better turn-in response.
You will probably benefit from setting the rear tires at slightly different (and probably lower) pressures than your fronts. Among other things, this does a little to help keep the rear from skipping sideways while cornering on less than smooth pavement. BTW, this is a concept that you really can carry over to your DD mode.
For just one or two occupants in the car, a light trunk load, and OE GT-size tires, 33 or 34 up front and 29-ish in the rear might be a place to start. But try it in more normal driving first.
Oh yeah, wrong coast (probably won't make it, sorry ).
