So why do people pay the extra $$$ for the FRPP, what is the difference there?

Does that kit void my factory warranty? Is that kit good quality parts that wont rust away quickly, or damage my engine in other ways? And is it a TRUE Dual exhaust?

Pypes offers the kit minus the mufflers, I've
seen it as cheap as $269.00. Mufflers are
a choice based on sound and looks. Regular
GT takeoffs are a good alternatives and come
in various models, reg GT stick/auto, rolled tip
GTCS, Bullit etc. I have regular GT muffs and
they have a deep but mellow tone, not loud on
a V6. Plenty of pics and sound clips on this site.
Use them to make your choice. Pypes are ss.
Would benefit you in the frozen tundra area you
live. Check ebay and others for price.

Do you have a link for the Pypes kit minus muffler?

Here's a link to the Pypes kit minus the mufflers http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku. The x-pipe splices in after the cats and it has the mid pipes with all of the clamps and hangars to mount a pair of mufflers.

Heres another link that has that same Pypes kit paired up with GT takeoff mufflers http://www.newtakeoff.com/exhaustsystems.aspx.

No, it should NOT void your warranty from my understanding. Its made from stainless steel which is rust resistant. And yes, it is a TRUE DUAL exhaust.

Hey Max,
As far as warranties go, should not void your warranty
but that depends on the dealer you deal with. GOOD
dealers will honor your warranty, but some will find any
excuse to void it. Hopefully your local is a good one,
someone who deals with some performance customers. Might
be a good idea to ask. I've heard some of them will only
honor warranties if they do the install and sell you the
duals. Stay away from them. My local FD sells Shelbys and
offers FRPP and other performance parts so they are reasonable about it.
It's worth traveling a bit to find a good one who is reasonable.

Well, yes technically anything not FRPP can void your warranty. You will hear folks run on about the Magnuson-Moss Act, which is a bunch of hot air. The truth is that the manufacturer has a ton of leeway in determining if they will warranty a part that could have failed due to an aftermarket part.

Should an exhaust system matter? No... But, I would not be towed into a dealer with a blown motor with a Pypes (or any aftermarket system) as you are just asking to get the boot. Times are tough at Ford and they are not going to be looking to do $4k worth of free work when they can just say no.

That was THE reason I chose the FRPP. It cost a bit more...but the quality is top-notch and I will never have to worry about warranty issues.

I wouldn't worry about the warranty too much. Your warranty will not be completely voided. Obviously the dealership won't repair a rattle thats due to your aftermarket exhaust. They can only void your warranty if the aftermarket part caused the problem. For example, If your throttle body quits working, they can't blame it on your dual exhaust. On the other hand, if an o2 sensor goes out, they might not cover it.

My dealership could care less about my duals. Some of the employees there even complimented them.

Cool

Hell, dealers will void warranty work if you can't provide receipts
for oil changes. If you are worried about warranty work, keep your
car stock and have all your work performed at the dealer you bought
it from. Either that, or stamp FORD on the parts before you do any
modding. Thats a joke! Look, do it yourself if you are on a budget and do it
professionally. If it looks like a hack job, they'll question it. Or have
a shop do it with some sort of guarantee. These are not Porsches or
Ferraris. Have some fun with your Mustang, do the mods you want to
and spend as little or as much as you want, it's your time and money.

Thanks for the link. I already have the takeoffs, ready to go dual this spring.
