Exclamation 06 Mustang V6 problems I have the codes Autozone gave me Please Help me fix my car

I just bought a 06 mustang v6 and it runs good but today the little wrench came out on the display and i noticed a little bit of power loss but the car still runs and can even go on the highway over 70mph , then later on that day the little motor light came on the display so i took it to auto zone to run the computer and it threw out three codes. p0340 cam sensor, p2135 tps, p1336 misfire.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I am betting your camshaft or crankshaft position sensor is either bad or you have a loose connection. Could be something else...but that 0340 rarely pops up for anything else. I am surprised you dont have more honestly...but the misfire will certainly be a result.

The cam & crank pos sensors basically tells the car when the appropriate time to fire is.

Should be a cheap fix...I would start with unplugging them and making sure the connection is clean and plug it back in. Reset your codes and try again. I bet it will pop back up.

Someone that really knows the 4.0 will chime in and tell you exactly where they are...my car only has 3K on it, so luckily I havent had to get too intimate with the motor yet.

Relax though...this wont be an expensive fix. Probably not...

Probably why they sold it! Cleared the damn codes and you would never know!

How many miles are on it, too?

Check the electrical connectors and wiring around the throttle body and related wiring harness (at the front of the engine). The cam sensor is up top, too, near the same area, so maybe something is loose or a wire or two are burned through or cut.

The misfire is caused by the cam sensor not being read; the tps could be a different problem.
Fix the cam position problem first, then reset (clear) the codes. Autozone can do the clear.

Is it me, or did I just read that twice????

Anyhow, where'd you buy the car from? Private or a dealer?

Tx might be right, thats probably the reason why they sold it, hopefully not but, if they did I'm sure there are Lemon laws that'll help out...Hopefully

if its an 06, take it to your local ford dealer and see if its still under warranty. all come with standard 3 year. an 06 may be cuttin' it close though.
