I properly sized turbo does not lag. I was seeing some boost/tq just past the 2000 rpm marker.

True but I am talking lag as in any lag whatsoever. You can do things to reduce it easily. But centri will have lag at least till 2500. From my experience anyways. I am sure that there might be things to reduce that too. But will ordinary people do that............no.
