Default Rebuilding since the accident...question about hood.

As most of you know i hit that deer on valentines day and im doing the rebuild myself. I have obtained all the parts i need (I'm upgrading to the GT appearance) except for the hood. Now, im just going to transfer my scoop now onto my new hood since the scoop wasnt damaged like the hood was. However i was wondering if anybody knew of a place that sells Take-off hoods in torch red. I'v searched and ant really find many places that let you choose the color, which to me defeats the purpse of getting a take-off. Ford quoted me $1100 for the hood then $370 for paint and labor. I have to assume there is a torch red take off hood out there for less than $1470.

I dont want an aftermarket hood as i love the look of my 3D carbon wide hood scoop. Therefore i would love just the stock hood or even a GT hood with a scoop that i could just remove. Anybody know of some website, friends or even yourselves selling a take off? Any help would be appreciated. The rebuild will be done by the middle of next week and i'll be sure to post pics!

P.S I got some headlight splitters while i was at it

I can't help you out sorry, but I don't see why you don't want an aftermarket hood. For the $1470 Ford wants for a new stocker, you could get an aftermarket for what $400 + paint/labor? Even one with a simple design so it's not too flashy. It's your car though...

Well i already have a $300 hood scoop. I would rather put that on a stock hood. To me, looks nice and i dont have to just have a $300 hood scoop lying around

Stage 3 motorsports had some nice hoods. http://www.stage3motorsports.com/cat...___body.hoods/
Doesn't look like newtakeoff or ninosport have hoods anymore... hmm
Maybe give calmustang a call and see if they have a hood in torch red by chance: http://www.cal-mustang.com/2005-2008...29175C248.aspx

good luck!

Crazy idea, you could sell that $300 hood scoop, get an awesome new hood AND fresh paint, and still come out ahead of the curve.

Have you looked at salvage yards/automotive recyclers? Pick-a-part kinda places?
