Default Car won't start? What the Crap?

So here's the deal... Drove the car aprox 35mi with a few stops here and there. When I came out of a store and tried to start... NOTHING. All lights, radio (still has correct time), locks, windows and everything work fine. I can hear the fuel pump when the key is turned on but nothing as far as the starter, not even a click. Tried with headlights on and they are bright as can be and do not dim when start is attempted. Anti-Theft (light did not come on steady or rapidly flash as if it were tampered with), key chip, start solenoid, ignition switch? I had the darn thing towed to the dealer so we'll see what they say. Only 6 weeks old with less than 2,000 mi. This better not be a sign of things to come. What the crap?

Did the flashing PATS indicator go off when the key
was turned to the run position indicating that its
working properly?
What have you added in the floor mat department lately?
Are you depressing the clutch ALL the way to the floor?
A floor mat under the clutch pedal with cause what
you are experiencing.
Its most likely the clutch safety switch.....

I agree with 157. It is one of the starting lockouts. Easy fix...but it sucks being stranded like that for sure.

Just got back from the dealer and it's a bad starter. Kinda sucks that it failed so soon but what are you going to do? I was on board with you guys thinking something was locking out the start circuit but apparantly not. We'll see. Now I get to beat the hell out of their 08 Edge courtesy car till Tues! I'll keep ya'll posted.

HAHA burn the crap outta the tires on the edge, drive it till the limiter kicks in, and turn it back in to them with the gas tank on E. That'll show them.

Nah jk dont do that, Unless you really want to of course. Atleast with only 2,000 miles it is WELL under warranty

Yeah, the dealer was pretty cool about it and it will all be covered (obviously). The tow truck driver let the kids hang out in the truck since it was in the 20's with freezing rain and sleet then he parked the stang directly in front of the service dept main bay door. Then he said.. "Now you know it will be the first one looked at in the morning"! This sucks but atleast I got the Edge!

By the way, I'm not going to beat the hell out of it but it did cross my mind!
