Me personally, NO. I would never consider buying a car that was a loaner or rental car, but that's me, I am fanatical, actually this GT is my first used car that I have purchased in over 20 years. But I am a frequent renter of Enterprise, I have a corporate account with them and have gotten very friendly with alot of the managers, they really do maintain their cars very well and any damage gets repaired immediately, so if the price was right why not.

Over just the last year the prices on v6's and even gt's have come down significantly! I would imagine that you could find a non-rental mustang that was in great condition for about the same price. Im sure there's exceptions to rental stangs but do you want to risk a serious lemon? either way, good luck!

Like someone else said--

If it has Factory Warranty then you really dont have much to worry about... That was the biggest decision in me buying my car (which was a rental). I have taken advantage of that warranty a few times for small things like a rattle in the door to a brake rubbing and it was all free.

Dont be worried about people saying that these rentals were abused... they probably were but what do they make Mustangs for? They make 'em to have fun with !! I've probably abused my car way more than anyone who rented it did thats probably not a good thing, but good luck not doing it every now and again!! It's too much fun.

Here's what I do way more then I should:

I would expect the life of the tranny (if automatic) or clutch (if manual) would be shorter than normal. Otherwise, if from a reputable firm with a clean carfax, you could get it for the right price (12K would be way too much).
Once I bought a used ford that had been a rental, and it was well maintained, but the automatic tranny didnt last as long as it should have. Otherwise it was a good find and a solid car (not a stang, though).

In 2007 I bought my daughter a 2006 Focus from Enterprise Car Sales. The car was clean with no scratches, had low mileage and still under warranty. I check Kelly Blue Book for the value and indeed, Enterprise was giving me a great deal. I took it to our Ford dealer and had them check it out.....everything was fine. She still has it and loves it! I bought her a spoiler from the Spoiler Store and she bought some nice rims.

Let us know what you decide.

i would only buy a rental if i had major modding plans where a lot of components were gonna get swapped anyways. NO WAY for a primary/daily driver.
