Default V6 or V8

I got a 2008 V6 as a gift for going to a military academy (since the navy pays 250,000 for my education). I want to make it better! What would be the best bang for my buck to sup it up? Or would it be better to just trade it in for a GT or Bullit in a few years? Don't get me wrong, I love my car, i just want it to be faster.

you could trade it for a v8, but it all depends on what you want out of the car, v6 arent as bad as people make them to seem, there is alot of aftermarket support for them. but it's your call. check out some of the 6's on here they are pretty sick. good luck

yeah, try to be more specific on what you want out of your car and how you plan to use it. that would help us give you better opinions.

The best bang for the buck is forced induction; either a blower or a turbo. The blower is easier to tune and install. But the turbo is a little more flexible, and has the potwntial to make more power in more situations.

I want a balance of more power and better handling.
intake/exhaust? 3.73 ring and pinion? suspension? tires? turbo or super?

well if your staying with the v6 then maybe do 3.73's or 4.10's its personal prefrence imo. for exhaust again its prefrence just listen on "youtube" and see what sounds best. if your going turbo or s/c suspension is deff needed and also tires cause you can be making 7,000 rwhp but get beat by a honda with better traction than you. all in all "you gotta pay to play" the v8 imo would be better when throwing money at it but its your choice

My opinion would be to stick with the 6 and mod it. You are a lucky bastard to have your education paid for (I did too) and got the car as a gift (I did not!) so enjoy it!

I have been in 12 years now (Air Force) and wouldn't change it for anything. I fly for a living and haven't worked a day since I joined. If I want a rush I beat the hell out of the plane not my car!

Check and see how much your insurance will change if you upgrade to a GT. I would suggest staying with the 6 for that reason.

if you are looking to get a super or turbo charger you might not want to change the gears because sometimes it will make it to steep and you don't have much top speed

also if you want more information on turbo vs. super charger their are lots of threads but the two most popular are powerhouse for the turbo and x-charger for the super charger
