Talking So I went to an 1/8th mile track today

I went to an 1/8th mile track today and heres what I came up with.

Im sporting a bone stock 2007 v6 mustang.

My best time was thus:
Reaction---- .0345
60 ft------- 2.2253
330 ft------ 6.4371
594 ft------ 9.2963
1/8 ET----- 9.9341
MPH ------- 70.53

It was the first time I have ever been to a track and I had a blast!! It took me a few tries to get below 10 seconds but I ended up getting below 10 twice over all.
Do yall think this is a good time or bad?
I still have the time slips but I am too lazy to upload them. So if you guys really want them Ill post em.

Thanks!

Exceptionally good for a bone stock mustang. I went 9.9 my first time to out to the 1/8. What was your rear tire psi? What rpm did you launch at?

I launched from about 2700-3000 Rpms varied, I was testing everything out and Im a total noob so not too consistant yet.
My rear tire PSI was the recommened tire pressure. I didnt mess with it at all. Traction was definetly an issue. So much that sometimes when I was first going I had to shift early because lack of traction made me hit the end of first gear too fast.
It seems what made the best difference was the right amount of burnout after the water.

I would drop your launch down to 2000, and drop your rear tire psi to 25. Don't do a burn out on streets, just cycle your tires twice to clean them off. Go around the water box if you can.

If you car hooks, increase your rpm a hundred or two till you find the sweet spot. If it spins, drop your rpm a hundred or two till you find an rpm you can hook at.

Interesting, only 2000ish RPM? Is that becasue I have stock tires or for an other reason altogether? The water box was unavoidable sadly. But cycling them once or twice was exactly what I did

Because you are on street tires and not a drag radial.
