H-Pipe and X-Pipe: What's the Sound Difference?

I'm planning on going duals. What is the difference in the H and the X pipes?

Thank you. (The search brought back too many pages of thread and I couldn't find an answer to this question.)

Much appreciation for your help!

Short and simple: An X is going to give you slightly better performance because of superior air flow, but an H will give a deeper rumble to your sound. Some people have said an X will make your car sound like an import, but i really don't think its that drastic.

subtle differences. nothing worth busting brain vessels over when deciding which to get. X slightly better flow, H slightly better sound (this is based on the assumption that you like a deeper throatier tone... if not, then this is not an advantage for the H). BTW, love my setup. perfect fit for a big V6.

I like a better sound.
But, how does an H-pipe affect performance--slightly slower? CEL?

unless ur a serious track junkie where every E/T matters, performance difference is NOT a factor and likely not even felt.

Cool, Sancho. I'm just a crack junky, so speed on a track is not an issue.
So no worries about CEL thrown and such?

I have the h/pipe jba mids and ford racing stingers... it sounds good but at highway its pretty annoying after 50 or so miles...

heres a link to mine btw... never had any problems with cel's

I have the pypes street pros with x pype. at first I did not like them but now after 5000 miles they sounds beautiful. I am always self conscious and ask friends and family if they sound ricey but i never get a yes.

Quick additional question: Do the H pipes give more burbly sound than the X pipes?

Thanks for all your guidance.

The sound difference between the two is minimal. Neither an x or an H will give you that deep v8 grumble.
