Default New Waterpump

Apparently my waterpump is leaking! Luckily it's covered under warranty.

Just out of curiosity does anyone here know what the labor and parts for that cost?

I just had a bunch of things fixed today, and they ordered a new waterpump & are installing it this Tues.

When I did mine, about $65 for a new name brand pump (Bosch) and $0 for labor (did it myself in about 45 min. Very easy job)

Just out of curiosity what causes a water pump to break and what is the function of one?

It's a normal wear item. Not changing your coolant as scheduled can shorten the pump's lifespan, but they all wear out eventually.

The water pump circulates water to the radiator to keep the engine cool, as well as hot water to the climate control system when you have the heat on.

You just seem to be having all the bad luck.
I cant believe they didnt have a waterpump
for an 05-09 current production vehicle.
What if it went out completely and you
lost use of your vehicle for days because
they had to order a commonly replaced
item. Did they order it from Ford or the parts
store down the road?

Tell them you want to buy a replacement serpentine belt
for a spare and see if they have to order that also.
