engine-4.0L v6, go look under the hood on the passenger side youll see a little black box with a four digit code, thats the calibration code. the tire size is pretty apparent. if you have the stock gears in your v6 then itll be 3:31. the mod list is the modifications youve done to your car. pick the octane and which tune you want then your ready to roll. bama is a great company i have a 93 race tune and couldnt be any happier with it. doug from bama is a great help too.as far as the best tune for you goes its all opinion and what you want out of the tune.

Thanks Legend. I was not sure about the calibration code. I will take a look. One more thing. The different octane ratings. If I have half a tank of 87 octane and want to change my setting to 91 or 93, do I need to run all of that gas out first? What about going the other way?

you do need to run it empty. youre setting your ecu to run a higher octane running a lower one will only cause problems

Correct. You should always fill up with the highest octane that you have a tune for, even if you run a lower octane tune, that way you never run into this situation.

For example, I have 3 tunes (87perf, 93trq, & 93race). I use the 93 race tune 99.95% of the time. The other .05% is reserved for the 87 performance tune on long trips with lots of highway driving because it will give you the best MPG (this is what Doug himself told me). Last year I drove to Chicago on the 87 performance tune, but made sure I still filled up with 93 octane the whole way because the main tune I use is the 93 race. As soon as I got to where I was going, I loaded the 93 race back up. BTW, I got 26.6 MPG that trip.

The higher the octane that a tune is designed for, the more power potential it has.

IMO, yes, but those also fit my needs and wants. My car is not a daily driver, so just about every time I drive it, I have fun in it, that's why I love the 93 race tune. If I'm going to be doing A LOT of highway driving, I'll load up 87 performance to get better MPG, but then it's back to 93 race after that.

That being said, I still think those make a pretty good setup. You have your 87 for MPG, 93 torque for stop and go traffic, 93 race for fun. Then again, I don't even use the 93 torque because I like the 93 race too much, and like I said, my car isn't my DD so I don't have to worry about traffic. Even if I did, I still use the Race over the Torque.

What are your driving conditions going to be? Is your car a daily driver? Will you ever have a problem finding a gas station with 93 octane?

I am looking into getting the custom tunes from Bamachips. Here's a link on how to locate the calibration processor code. This is on Bamachips website. feel free to look at the website, they have some helpful information listed.
