Default DiabloSport Predator questions

I found a used Diablosport Predator for sale, but want to find out a bit more about it before I buy...

Since the original owner has used it, is there anything to keep me from being able to use it with my car? (i.e. does it only allow itself to sync with one car's computer)

I see that I would have to have a custom tune done to compensate for my exhaust and CAI being installed. Would using it before having a custom tune done be a good/bad idea?

Which brings me to my next question: how much does a custom tune cost, and what tunes should I consider having done?

And lastly, I've got a 1000 mile road trip coming up... providing I don't need a custom tune to make some decent use out of it, which of the 3 factory installed tunes would get me the best fuel efficiency?

If anyone has a lot of experience using a Diablosport Predator, I'd love to hear more about your personal experiences using it, as well. Thanks!

The tuners are married or locked to the stang when the stock tune
is uploaded to the tuner and replaced with a custom tune.
It is unmarried or unlocked when the custom tune is uloaded to
the tuner and the stock tune is replaced.
A Diablo is not a Diablo is not a Diablo.
There are different models for the different
year models of the S197 stang. 05-06 and 07-09.
Your stratagy codes must also match.
Its a sticker on the front of the PCM in the
engine compartment. You must know this
code before brenspeed or bamachips will be a
ble to send you a tune. Skip the hassle of the
used tuner and get the real deal for under $700.
C&L makes a mean CAI and also sells tuners with
canned tunes for their CAIs.

Read here before asking tuner questions sticky at the top of the V6 page

Don't worry about buying a used tuner.
Looks like you have a 05.
So you'll need a Diablo Predator U7140.

+1... just make sure that the factory tune was loaded back into the previous owner's car so that the tuner is reset. i also have model #U7140 which is only for the 2005 and 2006 model years. also, make sure it ain't broken! that's pretty important
