Default brembos on a six?

so i've picked up a set of brembos off of a GT500. I took them into ford, and they bolt right up to the car and llok fantastic, however the tech said there might be some peoblem with the fact that my master cylinder and brake booster "may not put out enough pressure to close up the binders properly", also that there are dedicated brake lines on the gt and gt500 vs split lines on the 6. so im wondering if anyone else has done this swap and how it has worked with them. does anyone else think this will actually be a problem?

The guys at the dealership said they dont actually have any real hard evidence that it will happen, as they have never seen anyone who has done this swap before. I would appreciate any professional opinions or personal experince on this one. Thanks guys.

You should also try the S197 handling forum. Those guys seem very knowledgeable in brakes in general and should be able to give you some good feedback on the design differences.

I believe the "split lines" thing is that Gt500's and GT's come stock with ABS, whereas it's an option on the V6 models. If your car has ABS, there should be no difference.

Just an update so everyone knows, BREMBOS DO FIT ON EVEN THE BASE MODEL 6ER AND WORK PERFECTLY!!! WOO HOO!!!!

im so pumped.

i waited at the local ford dealership here in columbus for them to put the brakes on my car expecting to hear the dreaded words "they fit, but they dont work." EXCEPT THEY DO WORK!!! they bite hard and look sick as all get out. really works well with my black and silver theme i think. i'll post some pics up later as i have to go to work soon, but install and everything (including on test fit session) ran me about 900 bucks. and for a kit that normally retails over 1500, it was a helluva deal.

So dont believe the tech and turn around and sell your brakes if they tell you that your non-hydroboost(type of brake booster) equipped mustang "probably wont be able to handle the bigger calipers."

They work amazingly.

I can attest to them looking great.....nice looking Mustang too! You need to post some pictures so the other members can check out your work. Glad it all turned out so good for you. Good meeting you today. What a coincidence to meet another member out of the blue like that.

BTW, my trip there turned out good too. They're ordering the parts to fix my transmission issue and my seat. The bad part is they want my car for 3 straight days!!

When I did the 14" saleen/baer kit on mine they told me the same thing might happen but they worked flawlessly after being installed for the 10K+ miles that I had them on mine. Post pics man they should look killer set behind those wheels of yours
Quick question was the takeoff set front&rear or just fronts?

the takeoffs were just fronts cause from what i have seen theyre the same rears (calipers and rotors) with different pads. i will be doing the steeda upgrade or maybe the baer upgrade in the near future though.

TSB 08-8-5 which is the vibration/noise in our MT. They're replacing the flywheel and then my pleather seat is wearing through and they are going to send that out and get that fixed/replaced.

So how are the brakes feeling so far?
