The GT stock doesn't sound THAT loud. Do the GT take-off pipes sound louder on the V6 because of the H-pipe and mid-pipes? Or does it even sound any louder than the GT?

Thanks.

It really shouldn't because GT's come stock with an H and I can't think of why my mids would make it louder. My car does breathe better than stock because of the CAI, but even that shouldn't make that big a sound improvement, right? I can't say for sure, because I've never pulled up next to a GT to compare sound, but I don't think mine could be louder. I dunno, maybe I'll watch some youtube videos for reference.

Foreu, why wouldn't you go for the GTA's if you already have them? Oh and your welcome, glad to help

Personally, even if it's only a small improvement its still enough of a difference to where I'd be driving around wishing I had the better set up. Plus the GTA's are 4 inch tips whereas the appearance package GT's are 3.5 inches so they're a slight improvement on the looks. I'd put on the GTA's and sell the GT's for a fair price with the rolled tips in mind

the GT's idle stock prob isnt much louder but the rev blows a v6 away no matter what . its just got the agreesive deep rev.... i have a o/r h pipe and mac exhaust on my GT. its absolutely amazing.. i used to have a v6 traded that in... so worth it

Yeah it'd be interesting to compare the idle of my car with a stock GT. I love revving my car with my hood open to hear the CAI sucking in on one side and the mufflers blowing out on the other.

Install was really easy and inexpensive (pipe fabrication and install: $175) and i'm extremely satisfied. Unfortunately the freeway was pretty backed up and i didn't do much street driving but i can say for sure the car sounds REALLY deep and i can feel a good rumble even at idle. I just took my friend out for a spin and we can definitely feel an increase of low end power, not a loss as some have said. Here's the pics, if there is any interest I'll make an in depth video:

Awesome! I'm doing the same thing while I save up and make a decision on a real system. Thanks for the pics.

Edit: What size tubing did you use for the H and mid pipes??
