Default GT vs. V6 axle back question

Will my stock passenger side axleback from my '07 GT fit my g/f's '06 V6 w/o modification and will it improve the exhaust note? I'm going to get underneath both later today but even if it's a physical match, I don't want to install it if there's no sound improvement.

YES

"will it improve the exhaust note?"

YES

"I'm going to get underneath both later today but even if it's a physical match, I don't want to install it if there's no sound improvement."

Her car won't sound like a GT, but it will sound better with the take-off muffler, and there will be a performance gain of about 8 rwhp (that's what I saw at least on the dyno).

Yeah, those cars use the same brackets on the same anchor points on the frame rails.

In my case (GTAs), I sure didn't get 8rwhp. Don't think I gained any.
Maybe because I don't have a true dual under there, I only rigged a Y pipe from the passenger side outlet.
It does sound much better though.

Excellent. I might as well put the stockers to SOME use.

I truly doubt there'd be any gain in RWHP.

Sounds better. My buddy's car picked up 2 mpg going to the single GT muffler.

I picked up 2 mpg when I went from stock to GTA duals.

Both cars picked up some SOTP power.

I've had a GT axleback muffler on my V6 for about 25,000 miles. Definitely sounds better, doesn't drone like the Flowmaster AT muffler. A worthy addition. Supposedly there is a difference between the manual and automatic mufflers, with the manual having better flow. Mine is a manual.
