Hey I recently bought an 05 v6. It currently has a true dual maganflow catback exhaust. the previous owner went through the trouble t have a true dual put in on the v6, so there is no y pipe for the dual. i am lookig for suggestions on what could be done next to give me a little more power. I have been think a K&N CAI and possibly some headers. just some ideas of mine. trying to keep in under $600-700/mod or so. just lookin for some thoughts or ideas. thanks

Brent

Without a tune (my current set-up): 5-7 hp. With a (reputable) tune: up to 20

C&L and Tunable Inductions are the best imo. The others will work but those two give the best gains. Don't buy an intake unless it requires a tune though. You might save some money by picking up a used intake as well.

The CAI tune combo will give you the best bang for your buck within your price range. sites such as bamachips and brenspeed are good places to get those combos. A local shop that can get you on a dyno and give you a tune will give you more gains. This is more expensive however. For the money you are looking to spend you can throw a little more towards the cause and get an 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears and t-lok. This mod is usually second to a CAI tune combo though.

also, if i am retuning do i need a new chip or is the current one just fine. some have told me i would need to get a new chip because i cannot retune the current one and others have told me that there is no reason to get a new chip until the mods get really serious. any thoughts..?

no you will never ever need a chip for your car, the tuner flashes the computer, no need for a chip
