Default Shift points on my tune.

So I have a 2007 'Stang, Automatic, with a JLT Intake with Bama's 91 Race tune.

The shifting for daily driving is normal and perfectly fine, nice and firm. But.. when I press a little more than daily driving, it seems to want to shift way to quickly.

When flooring, WOT is perfectly set at the right RPM, but when not in WOT, at around pressing the peddle halfway down, it seems to want to change to a higher gear way too quickly.

I e-mailed Doug to see if there was a way to change the tune for me, he just e-mailed me back saying that the tuner can change that, but I have absolutely no idea how to change those points.

Can anyone shed some light on my situation?

I ran the 91 race for a while. I know what your saying. For normal in town driving it would shift to soon for me as well. What Doug might be referring to is the wot shift mph adjustment. Ask him. But unfortunately, if you increase that, you are increasing the rpms at wot shifting. For this reason and because the OD kept kicking in and out on the highway, I went back to the Torque tune. The race tune is just that. It's a great tune for wot driving. Some folks really like it for a DD, but my DD is the 91 Torque.

If in your tune, the settings are adjustable, you can tweak those settings. In my XCAL2 tune, I tweak the WOT shift settings. Yes, it's not full WOT you're adjusting, but the adjustments seem to affect the 3/4 or so throttle timing, too.
One of the problems I would have was taking off through a turn and the 2nd-3rd shift would hang and not want to shift, if I took off like 3/4 throttle or so. Adjusting down the 2-3 WOT shift 'mph' one or 2 values helped resolve that.

So yeah, its in your tune, but the tuner has to make it accessible to you to be able to change it, as well as provide the range of values you can tweak it to.
Good luck.

I just got an SCT X3 and I havent ordered a tune yet. First, should I go with a tune from my CAI maker or should I go Bama? Second when I loaded the preloaded tune and selected my intake, I noticed all of my shift points said 0mph..... shouldn't this be set? If my understand is correct, When in drive but on the brake and stopped wouldn't that put me in my top gear since 1-2, 2-3, ect, is set to zero? any help would be appreciated. I don't know if Demolet or Bama are open on the weekends and I want to run my new intake to the beach tomorrow. Thanks!

Th shift points are deltas (differences) from what is programmed in the tune.
