Default Clutch and Diff install???

i am in the process of replacing my rear diff and gears with an Auburn HP and 4.10 Motive gears, as well as getting a new centerforce clutch. what would be a fair install price for each of these setups? this would include macining of the flywheel. I have EVERYTHING for the install, i just need the labor. throw me some numbers please...

btw i was quoted 300 for the diff and gear install and 300 for the clutch install, i just personally think 600 is a little steep.

Assuming that most mechanics are charging $90/hr- 3 hours for the clutch is very reasonable. Also, $300 for the rear differential is very fair (sometimes it takes more than 3 hours to get it set up correctly).

thanks. i havejust heard some people throwing areound 200 for gear/diff install so i thought i was getting screwed a bit. I have also heard clutches arent that hard to replace,so i just all around thought i was getting taken advantage of a bit.

If you can do a little handy work you can do the clutch yourself and I wouldnt think you need to machine the flywheel. So you should be able to do the clutch yourself easy as for the diff yea I think your getting stuck to cause I was qouted 200 for a install

Installing the clutch is fairly straight forward- more of a pain than anything else. But, I would strongly recommend resurfacing or buying a new flywheel. Without it- you will not get a complete flat wear surface (best case- it may chatter a little, worst case- it will slip).

okay well it is slipping now so i dont want to take any chances. and chatter has been a problem since i had about 10000 on my odometer. i trust myself on simple things, but this i s my only form of transportation, so i cant screw anything up (or afford to do it over again).
